Harbor Hideaway Waterfront Vacation Rental

Our Guests Have Spoken

A paradise on Honeymoon Bay!

One of the most beautiful properties we have ever visited. The house is equipped with everything you could need. The outdoor area is beautifully landscaped and view of the water breathtaking! John was available to help us find medical help when some of family came down with the flu which was above and beyond. We sincerely hope to return one day!

We had high expectations, and Harbor Hideaway exceeded them across the board.

12 of us converged on Harbor Hideaway from all over the country for a milestone birthday celebration, and could not have been more delighted with the location, home, and hospitality we received. All of the information provided on VRBO was 100% accurate with no exaggeration or fluff. Even the photos were not just great photos in the perfect light, etc. They were exactly representations of what you find when you see this breathtaking home and views for the first time. The house was extraordinarily well equipped and we really appreciated how everything was clearly labeled, and instructions were provided for the hot tub, etc. We took turns cooking 3 meals a day, with a different theme for each day, and found everything we needed, and abundant dishes, flatware, serving ware. The house was impeccably clean, and everything worked well. Everyone has their own taste, but we found the decor to be traditional and comfortable - and we appreciated the "themed" rooms as a great way to facilitate planning and room assignments -- besides being a cute idea. The beds were all comfortable -- Even the roll-away beds -- and again, no shortage of linens. We made use of the outdoor grill, fire pit, and even ventured down to the beach a couple of times. TVs in all the bedrooms was a nice touch, and having a bathroom in each bedroom was ideal. John and his team were phenomenal. They were kind, gracious and accommodating. It felt like family. We only saw them for a few minutes, but they just seemed like nice people that you would enjoy spending time with. Check in and check out were a breeze. I would highly recommend this home and will enthusiastically return when the opportunity arises.

Absolutely gorgeous and perfect for large groups

We loved this space! It was large enough for everyone to have their own space when needed but two tv rooms and a large table for family games and fun. Property itself is stunning!

Lovely home on Whidbey

We rented this house for wedding guests and family. It was perfect for us, because not only did it have 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, but also because one bedroom is on the main floor, with step-in shower, hand rails, and other necessities for our 90+ year old grandmother. Also a ramp into the house. The setting is gorgeous; on the water, on the flight path (lots of birds and birdhouses), spa, fire pit, beach access, and lovely landscaping. Unlike many other rentals, the kitchen really is "fully equipped" - we brought some of our own pots, but didn't need to. We especially appreciated the owners' attention to detail and concern for the comfort of guests. We stayed a week, but with wedding festivities and sightseeing, we didn't get to spend enough "down" time at the house, or to fully enjoy all the amenities, or to bird watch as much as we wanted. We hope to return soon. I give this place an A+ rating!

As beautiful as pictured

Great bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, enough dishes and cooking equipment to create the meals you want. Fabulous landscape and of course beyond incredible views.

Perfect home for a weekend with friends!

Our group of 11 girlfriends could not have been more impressed with John's beautiful home and property! Everything was absolutely perfect...from the well equipped kitchen to the comfortable beds to the stunning views and gardens! There are so many thoughtful details around the home specially for renters....labels on drawers, extra blankets/pillows, well written instructions for using the hot tub, plenty of gathering spaces both indoors and outdoors, and even fresh flowers on the dining table left for us! We started planning our return trips before we had even left!

Perfect for our team building retreat.

this property is gorgeous, the house is very nice. A few degrees warmer and we could have really used the outdoors more, but we got out quite a bit. The house itself is beautiful, but downstairs beds seem dated. Also, for the high price, too many things don't work at all, or work partly. Windows that can't be opened, a dishwasher that sort-of works and barely rinses, toilets that have to be babied all make it a lot of work to just be there. The large instruction binder puts a lot of onus on the renter to make it easier for the cleaning staff to do their job and on handling different pieces of equipment properly.

Amazing view and location

We had a wonderful time at this property. Hot tub, 2 fire pits and private access to the beach, whats not to like! We were 13 ppl and we fit in very nicely. Enough beds for everyone. The city of Langley is a 20 minute drive and worth a look for a couple of hrs. John (property owner) is very cool and is also available for most of the day if you need any help.

Sweet Spot for Group Getaway

Gathered up 10 of my friends and headed to Whidbey Island for the weekend. Upon my arrival, several guests had already arrived and immediately began telling me all the amazing parts of the house and property. It's a good sized home and one of the most beautiful, well designed properties I've experienced. There is a fire pit just down away from the home, with a lovely wrap around bench, closed in for privacy by a ring of evergreens. The outside hot tub is at the bottom of the deck and we loved it! Day and night, it was well used. And stairs all the way down to the water with another firepit there. It's a trek and not for the gingerly. Be prepared for a heart pumping journey on the way up. As it goes, we spent a lot of time in the kitchen. Whether you were cooking or not, the whole crew packed in as that's what you do when you have so much space! The bedrooms were generous and the bathrooms plenty. There is a huge master suite on the top floor - the only room up there. Equipped with a deep jacuzzi tub and private balcony. The main floor consists of one bedroom on the east side of the house and private bathroom. There is a shared bathroom, laundry room, kitchen, dining area with long table and the living room which contains 3 couches. Plenty of room to watch a movie or catch the game. The lower floor has 2 rooms each with their own door, private bathroom and door out onto the patio and closest to the hot tub and firepit. I think the downstairs mattresses need some upgrading. The queen bed in the north room sank right into the middle and the pull out sofa definitely needs replacing. We ended up pulling the mattress off the sofa bed, off the 2 rollaways, and grabbed the 2 other mattresses to make comfortable sleeping arrangements on the floor for 3 in our party. Otherwise there would have been some aches and pains in the AM. There were plenty of blankets and pillows for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked, although we never found any tongs and it definitely needs knives sharpened and heaps more cutting boards. They DO have recycling which wasn't clear as there was only a bin for garbage. Please recycle! Our party recommends bringing ziploc bags/containers for leftovers. Your own firewood. A robe for the hot tub. Spices for cooking. Maybe your own drinking water. Solid wine bottle opener and a yoga mat to take in the amazing view.

Comfortable and cozy stay for the holidays

We had a nice comfortable and cozy stay over Christmas 2016. The landscaping and property was well cared for and beautiful in every detail. The smaller holiday touches and decor inside made this extra special and our kids' eyes lit up when they saw a small "Christmas tree" near the entry way. The kitchen was well stocked (although the knives could use some sharpening). The floor plan was perfect for our 3 families of 7 adults and 3 kids. I loved how each bedroom had it's own adjoining bathroom and there was enough separation between the rooms for privacy. Even our two dogs had a water and food bowl just for them! We enjoyed the views of the water and light-filled rooms and watching the deer stroll through the yard in the mornings. The owners were friendly and available for any needs. I'm already thinking about our next trip back!

Fantastic handicap-accessible rental!

It can be very challenging to find a rental house that accommodates someone in a wheelchair, but this property fit the bill perfectly. The main floor was had ramp access, and the bedroom on the main floor has been recently renovated to accommodate a wheelchair - larger doorway, grab bar in the bathroom, etc. The house is in very good shape, beautiful deck and view of the water, plenty of other bedrooms for the rest of the party. We couldn't have asked for a more ideal rental for our group!

Amazing house for a relaxing ladies wine weekend!!

A group of 14 ladies stayed at this amazing Whidbey Island home for a wine weekend away. It was a wonderful house to relax in from the spacious rooms to the hot tub to the fire pit to the beach access to the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen. We couldn't have chosen a better gem for our annual ladies weekend. John was amazing to work with. He was always available and very quick with his responses. Thank you for a memorable weekend!!

Perfect. Private. Pretty.

We were on the island for a wedding, and stayed in this lovely house with our three adult children and their partners. The setting alone is worth the price of admission -- it's like your own paradise. But also, this place has everything you need for fabulous cooking and tons of room to hang out. We loved the upper master bedroom, deck, office and bath. The grounds are tremendous, especially the hot tub and badminton. John is awesome as an owner -- prompt and professional, too.

family wedding reunion

This property and house can accommodate many ages and interests. it is very well equipped, down to two kinds of potty chairs! We had all ages, sizes of folks for a wedding on the Island, and it was wonderful to just gather on the many decks, enjoying the vistas and shoreline. You could not ask for a more incredible way to experience Whidbey Island, and yet very accessible to all the areas of the Island.

Great Place to Stay

We had a great time staying here. The owner was very open and answered all our questions about the property prior to the stay. We had some concerns about sleeping arrangements and were able to get that figured out without issue. There is ample room for multiple families to stay at this property. Everything in the house is in good working order. The kitchen is well stocked with all necessary utensils, dishes, pans, etc. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Great views and we saw a lot a wildlife. Somewhat of a hike to get down to the beach but again, well worth it. We were able to clam and crab directly off this property's beach as well. Access to the local grocery store is very easy as we had to make multiple trips there through our stay. Definitely would rent here again.

Excellent Home in a Beautiful Setting for Large Group

Our large group loved the house itself as well as the beautiful location! We travelled with a group of 15 adult family members/close friends all in our 20s/30s, including 5 couples. The house provided plenty of sleeping space for us, though I would note that we are all quite close and comfortable sharing rooms. The bedrooms are set up perfectly for multiple families traveling with small children as well. In general, the house is spacious and allows a large group space to spread out. We never felt like we were crowded or tripping over one another. The kitchen was well-appointed for cooking and overlooks the water and decks. The backyard is amazing! It's beautifully landscaped with an open grassy area and large fire pit. The trek down to the water is steep, which is to be expected given the terrain, but the stairs are sturdy and there are multiple landings to rest if needed. The beach at low tide is worth exploring. We went off-island multiple times because we traveled from across the country and wanted to explore Seattle and Victoria, but the house would be perfect for a low-key family vacation as well. We typically travel with our young children, and it would have worked great as the setting for days spent lounging, playing, and reading. The setting is peaceful and gorgeous. Notes on the general area: A car is a must! There is plenty to do on the island recreation-wise, but you'll need to drive. Travel via the ferry back to the mainland is easy as well. I was most impressed with the quality of the restaurants on the island, especially in Coupeville. Hiking at Deception Pass was beautiful. Wineries are a must.

Incredible Home and Location

This home is incredible. We stayed here in June 2016. There were five adults and four children in our group. The layout of the home was perfect for our group providing plenty of privacy for everyone (each room having a bathroom attached), it also has large enough gathering places both within the home and around the property for everyone to enjoy each others company when we were all together. Our children loved to play in the yard and on the beach. The adults loved the beautiful surroundings/landscaping and views. We saw wildlife everyday, including deer (with their fawns), a raccoon, eagles, many seals, an otter, rabbits, squirrels, lots of crabs and plenty of birds. We took a kayak that we took to the beach and as we were out in the bay kayaking, we had plenty of seals pop up all around us. The owner was great to work with and quick to respond to any needs. We would definitely like to stay at this home again sometime in the future.

An Island Treasure

Beautiful setting with great views from the decks. Well maintained property with quiet places to visit discreetly. Perfect get-away location, very private, peaceful and serene. Yet has parks, beaches and shopping close by. Also, John Dingman, the owner, was wonderful to work with.

Views in a truly park like setting!!

This property is incredible. Perched on top of a bluff on the Southeast side of Whidbey Island. As you drive in, the first thing you notice is how tucked away the house is. When you walk in, you are met with nothing but a view of Puget Sound. The main floor has the living room, dining room, kitchen, a bedroom and large deck. All but the bedroom have a view. The true gem of the property is the multi-level backyard. There are three distinct tiers ending down at the water. The stairs down to the water are an engineering marvel and demonstrates the love the owners have for the property. We were there for a corporate retreat, but would highly recommend this house during the summer and with kids.

Great for a large group

Harbor Hideaway was the perfect house for our Girl’s Weekend. The house is clean, well-stocked, and set up for a large group. The view is spectacular! The house is located within an easy drive to everything we wanted to see and do. We would definitely stay again.
